MASONgrey: Female Owned and Operated.

About Maxine Bascue

Looking to fill a void in the world of comfort, Maxine Bascue created MASONgrey, a Los Angeles based luxury loungewear line that doesn’t make women choose between feeling comfortable and feeling sexy.

Growing up with a fashion background in a family of pattern makers, Maxine has never been a stranger to paying close attention to detail. That’s why everything MASONgrey is curated in small batches to ensure the finest cut and quality for an uncompromising brand experience, using the softest “cloud fabric.”

MASONgrey grew quickly and after a year of selling in Farmers Markets and Popup Shops, the brand has since made its debut in Nordstrom and on Shopbop.com, bringing chic coziness to ALL women, with all body types.

We sat down with our founder and #girlboss, Maxine, and asked her a few fun questions so you can get to know her better!

1. When you started MASONgrey, what was your goal for the company?

I started MASONgrey because I wanted a stylish, but cozy robe, and I genuinely couldn’t find what I was looking for. Everything I looked at was either too frumpy or too sexy. I needed a middle ground. So I decided to make it myself, with the help of my mom, who is a pattern maker. It was meant to be a fun, side hustle that turned into a full time lifestyle.

2. How do you manage being a mom and running a business?

Good question! I don’t know. A lot of iced tea! Having good support is everything, I am so grateful to have my husband, our nanny and the girls at MASONgrey.

3. What are 3 items you can’t leave the house without?

Marc Jacobs lip liner, cell phone, Starbucks iced tea

4. What is your go-to outfit?

Winter has had me feeling a little uninspired! Lately, my go to has been a pair of my favorite jeans with a big sweater and a cute pair of sneakers. When I’m feeling like I need to dress it up a bit, I’ve been gravitating towards a loose, floral dress with booties or sneakers and a leather jacket. Ask me again when the weather gets warmer!

5. What advice would you give to anyone who wants to start their own business?

Have thick skin and don’t give up. Don’t be scared to take a chance.
